Who Can Participate?

Individuals who are at least 18 years old with psoriasis (PsO) and/or psoriatic arthritis (PsA)

What Are Some Ways Participation Can Help You and Others like You?
  • Your participation will help us identify various risk factors associated with the development of psoriatic arthritis from psoriasis.
  • Information from the study will allow us to learn more about the effectiveness and safety of new treatments in psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis.
  • We hope to get a better understanding of why patients change their treatments to improve future care.
How long will I take part in this research study?
  • Your participation will begin at your regularly scheduled visit with your dermatologist or rheumatologist and will continue every 6 months for the next 5 years.
  • During this time, we will ask you to participate in approximately 10 study visits at BWH. 
What Will Your Participation in COPPAR Entail?
  • A physical examination (skin/joint) by your rheumatologist/dermatologist
  • A blood sample of up to 4 Tablespoons (50ml)
  • Skin sample (Optional) 
  • Phone call Interview/questionnaires on your general health, personal history of psoriatic disease, and course of treatments, and how it affects your day to day living, as well as your overall quality of life (approximately 30-60 minutes) 
Will I be paid to take part in this research study?

We will reimburse you up to $15.00 for parking expenses when completing our study visits.
